Fire Department
Today we pray for the officers and staff of the Florence Fire Department.
Pray this prayer: “Lord, you are majestic, glorious, mysterious and mighty. And so when you visited your people throughout Scripture, you often appeared to us in the form of fire. Fire is a gift to warm us, protect us and enable us to prepare meals—further attributes of yourself. And when trials come our way, you also promise to be with us in the fire. In this fallen and broken world, fire can also destroy. And so we pray for your image bearers who are with us when the literal and figurative fires threaten us, who risk their lives to protect our lives and property, and who are the first to respond to emergency medical calls. We thank you for them, and ask you to be with them and protect them as well. May they flourish as they connect more closely to you, others, themselves and your creation.”
