31 Days of Prayer – 28th of the Month
We believe that prayer is the backbone of seeing real transformation in the City of Florence. What does it mean to pray to the Lord on behalf of the city? Each prayer is rooted in God’s heart for every part of our city. Take some time to pray with us. If you are interested in going deeper as a part of our prayer network please send us an email to prayer@helpingflorenceflourish.org.
Judicial System: Judges, Attorneys, and Staff
Deuteronomy 16:18: “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.” Today we pray for our judicial system and all those who serve as judges, attorneys and staff.
Pray this Prayer: “ Lord, you are a God of justice, whose very character is perfectly good, right and just. You extend your character into creation, delighting in a well-ordered society where the rule of law is fairly established and applied to all. Your Word reminds us of your heart for the poor and oppressed, who often are more vulnerable because of their relative lack of resources and influence, and how we are called to be their advocates. We pray for your image bearers who serve in the justice system, that they may equally apply the law regardless of the person’s wealth, identity or status. May You give them the wisdom of Solomon as they rule and represent, especially in situations where insight and time are necessarily finite. And may they flourish as they connect more closely to You, others, themselves and your creation.”
