We believe that prayer is the backbone of seeing real transformation in the City of Florence. What does it mean to pray to the Lord on behalf of the city? Each prayer is rooted in God’s heart for every part of our city. Take some time to pray with us. Flourishing
Today we are praying for flourishing in our city. According to a Harvard University study, flourishing for an individual can be found in the following areas: happiness and life satisfaction, mental and physical health, meaning and purpose, character and virtue, close social relationships, and financial and material stability. The concept of the church’s role in the flourishing of a city is rooted in Jeremiah 29:7, which commands exiles to “seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord for it, for in its welfare you will find your welfare”.
Pray this prayer: “Father, we come to you today and ask boldly that you would cause the city of Florence and beyond to flourish for your Kingdom. We pray for every person that they would begin to understand what it means to flourish in every area of their lives. We believe that we can see your Kingdom on earth just as it is in heaven. Please help us to make disciples who are flourishing in every area of our lives and honoring You.”
