About Us
Who We Are
In 2014 Chris Scott, Erik Marechal and Chris Handley read and discussed a book, The Good City, by Glenn Barth. Conferring about Barth’s dream of a city that would be “GOOD”, we invited Glenn to town to consult with us regarding the “how to’s” of beginning a movement. To get us started he guided us through a listening tour where a team asked 66 leaders from Florence what the most pressing issues are for our community.
That team heard four primary concerns (Homelessness, Education Concerns, Broken Families Racial Division) and communicated those at a “Report Back” Event in January 2015 in the Cumberland United Methodist fellowship hall. Those concerns became the areas of emphasis for HFF going forward with Racial Bridging being the the highest priority. In February of 2016 HFF invited author and speaker Tony Evans to town to challenge Florence with the Oneness Embraced message. Over 100 voices comprised a Oneness Embraced choir as we celebrated the reality that there is only One Church.
From those early days HFF began undergirded and sustained by prayer planning monthly prayer gatherings. As time past, HFF added WinShape and Global Leadership Summit as annual events along with ServeFLO (a season of service). Currently we are developing networks among pastors, causes, neighborhoods and even regions.
- Gospelmovements.org is a place for movement leaders to connect and share their ideas, as well as a place of learning for those interested in initiating or joining a movement in their city.

Core Values
The Four Greats make up our core values:
Great Compassion. “Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant.” (Mark 10:43) We believe in sacrificial service, meeting real needs, and embodying the good news with tangible acts.
Great Commandment. “Love the Lord your God…and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39) We believe that love for God and love for our neighbors moves us to action.
Great Collaboration. “That they may be one…so that the world may believe.” (John 17:21) No single church or organization can reach a city alone. We must come together to spread the gospel.
Great Commission. “Go and ake disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19) Movements multiply when disciples who are transformed by Jesus go on to make more disciples.
